The Crystal Priestess

Spreading the Light of the Divine Feminine

I’m reflecting on the rescue mission that summoned me yesterday. I was called into my son’s school – there had been ‘an incident’ we needed to discuss.

On arrival I located one very withdrawn little Indigo boy sitting cross legged on the floor outside the Heateacher’s office, curled up, head against the wall, like a snail in a shell. The rest of the school bustled past and carried on as if he wasn’t even there.

My little Indigo-warrior had finally snapped and sworn at a female classmate, who had been repeatedly chasing and kicking him since he had refused to participate in a make-believe playground marriage ceremony. The girl had commandeered a group of pals who willingly settled upon my son as a target and complained to their class teacher that he had sworn. Petty stuff, all in all.

Perhaps swayed by the power of group communication, the teacher had isolated my son for the entire afternoon. When I arrived, I learned that he had been cross-legged on the corridor floor for at least an hour after a thorough grilling that energetically totally disabled his Throat-centre – swearing won’t be tolerated in a ‘church’ school where the path of least resistance is the best way to muddle through. No wonder he looked so traumatised, withdrawn and totally disempowered.

The circumstances that had led to my child being disciplined were one thing, but the biggest challenge for me was seeing the attempt that had been made to break his Spirit, leaving me with the healing-task of bringing him back into his centre and restoring his sense of presence. This can be tough for Indigos, and their sensitivity can easily prompt them to withdraw and absorb the energies of blame and shame projected by authority figures who act as an instrument for total spiritual disconnection. Struggling to bear the lack of harmony, and unable to express their frustration, they become a fireball of inward facing anger, like little ticking time bombs full of hurt.

I was certainly considered an appalling Mother when I stated that my son had been singled-out, stripped of his power, humiliated and given a message of inferiority when made to sit on the corridor floor. I wasn’t working in partnership with the school, I wasn’t reinforcing their values and I was challenging their right to handle my son as they saw fit. I also faced shocked expressions when I asked how often staff members sat on the corridor floor when problems were dealt with at work.

Once again I confront one of the biggest dilemmas of conscious Mothering. How can I send my Indigo boy for his daily education, like a lamb to the slaughter, when the system remains packed with inequalities and exists as a mechanism for manipulation, disconnection and control? Where is the nurturing, the deeper understanding of a child’s psyche, the acknowledgement of that spark of potential in each and every child that should facilitate a gentle, respectful approach to conflict resolution?

There is no swift method to resolve the tussle between the immediate need to integrate my children into our current society in an effort to ‘conform’ and the intuitive compulsion to prepare them for a new one, where revelling in the interconnectedness of our universe, and accessing their innate power to reconstruct the future of this planet will be their path.

I can only anticipate and welcome the beauty of any future shift in consciousness, knowing that the old attitudes and values will be washed away, bringing the potential for that long-awaited climate of infinite freedom.

In the meantime, I continue to challenge disresonant energies and breathe Light in the face of adversity, scooping my little Indigo-warrior up in my arms and bringing him back into his healing space of Love. What a dreadful Mother I am…

I spent last weekend working with Teacher, Therapist and Author, David Furlong, as a student on his Earth Energies training programme.

For me personally, the purpose of this experience was to increase my understanding of energies on the Earth plane and to revisit some of the space clearing techniques I had learnt previously, so that I could decide whether this is a service I will offer clients as an extension of my healing work.

In my experience as a healer, clients can be heavily debilitated by negative attachments – unwelcome energies that have literally ‘hooked’ into the aura – and these can be a significant problem for their health and well-being. Clients can walk around unaware of an unwelcome energetic visitor for days, months, or even years and struggle to find a root cause for their ailments, negative thought patterns and general lack of energy.

I’ve been used to tackling such problems with Spirit Release techniques and energy healing. However, imbalanced energies can exist in places and spaces due to the residual vibration of events and the disturbance of the energetic flow of the Earth and underground water, attracting unhappy or ‘stuck’ Spirits and the physical interference of 3D activities with the natural order of things. This is increasingly likely to be a problem as we continue to progress with urbanisation.

One fascinating technique I learnt this weekend was the use of dowsing rods. Dowsing, once known as Water Witching due to its notoriety as a method for locating water sources, is a tried and tested method of divination that can be traced back to the 15th Century. As an experienced pendulum dowser, I was probably at an advantage, being used to connecting with a divination tool as an extension of my own senses. But having never tried this particular art before, I was amazed at how easy it was to get going and how responsive the dowsing rods felt in my hands.

I worked with two L-shaped metal rods, one held in each hand. The rods act as an extension of the user’s own sensitivities to energy, and simply cross when a particular target is detected. The user determines the target by focusing their mind on what it is they are seeking. So the dowser could focus, for example, on finding a particular concentration of negative energy within a place or space, and the behaviour of their dowsing rods will lead them to an appropriate location. The dowser has then found their focus of attention and can then begin identifying the issue and the most appropriate healing or space clearing work to restore the energetic balance.

Dowsing rods somehow felt more appropriate for divination in spaces and places than the crystal pendulum, partly because they are practical to use outside and probably more reliable when walking around a room or outdoor space.

Having cleared the energies in my own and other people’s properties this weekend I feel confident there is a real place for this work as a service to people and to Mother Earth herself. We need to see ourselves as an integral part of the world around us and to recognise the interconnectedness of our existence – healing ourselves as individuals is only part of the picture. Ignoring our immediate and wider environments, such as our homes, workplaces and outdoor spaces is never going to be a satisfactory approach if we want to enjoy a harmonious future.
